...is postponing things.
I should write this unimaginably interesting paper about a geological comparison of austria and iceland. I have to hand it in tomorrow. I've been sitting all day long and wrote 2 pages which I'm almost proud of. I start every sentence here with "I" cos my brain is like mud, or like a smashed banana. so instead of going on writing (which doesn't work very well anyway) I prefer to write here about the music that guided me through the day. actually I could me being so lazy also blame on me being so much more interested in watching music videos than in trying to write about a topic I have no clue about. hep hep. here we got. it was a nice musical journey beginning with a lot of...
...Lightspeed Champions older songs, like Dry Lips sitting at hemmi og valdi and writing a little bit. when I realized that it's pointless and only costs money and that I would so much love to have knäckebröd with butter I went home with Lykke Li in my ear.
sitting in the kitchen and watching the snowflakes fall outside I turned on Holocene by Bon Iver and my concentration changed focus on the video instead of my paper. it's such an amazing piece of art. and it makes me wanna jump in a car and go to vík again, NOW.
that made me hungry for Sigur Rós videos and I wish I had taken Heima with me to iceland
and Moderat
and Pantha duPrince
and Gui Boratto
and Explosions in the Sky
and Sparklehorse
and now I got stuck on Nino aus Wien AGAIN today. and that makes me melancholic and moreover makes me think of so many good concerts I've seen in vienna. and that makes me wanna go to jugendinfo and buy concert tickets and that makes me wanna take my camera and take concert pictures. but somehow. here is not that much happening. and anyway. I still sit on the same spot in the kitchen, no snowflakes outside, it's dark and I would so much love to have cheap red wine a cigarette inside. well, might go downstairs that at least part of my dream comes true.
this going to be a never-ending-story today and I continue with Ja, Panik
and Belle and Sebastian ("....make me dance I want to surrender...", yesss!)
and Kings of Convenience
and The Whitest Boy Alive
and Jeff Buckley
and Bright Eyes ... I see that I'm slightly moving in the depressing corner. ..
and Free Energy
and Summer Camp
and Alex Turner's Submarine Soundtrack
and Beach House
and Björk
and Fever Ray
and it's 3 o'clock and I'm finally finished. this must be the lamest paper I've ever written. lame in velocitiy and lame in quality.

Vík í Mýrdal
So I finally got out of town for real. Josh, Marilou, Anik, Doni et moi still a bit apathic due to the party on wednesday (at least I) we headed towards Vík í Mýrdal. Marilou drove us trough a snowstorm, heavy rain and finally to an up-clearing sky on the black beaches near to Vík.
We first stopped at the Seljalandsfoss, on of the many impressive waterfalls in iceland. I was quite angry that my polaroid refused to take a picture of it, but at least my nikon served me well.

Continued to Vík where the weather was so unpleasant that an eating pause was the only reasonable thing haha. So we enjoyed traditional icelandic food - toast and hamburgers - and Marilou pushed herself up with a drink called magic. If that doesn't sound promising!

The sky cleared up a bit and we drove to the black beaches near to Vík. And there - later on - we finally got to see a glimpse of blue skies. The scenery was impressive. Strange stone formations, birds above, high waves and all that covered in monotone dark grey.

I love this melancholic feeling I get when I see all these remote and abandoned farm houses standing lonely in the middle of nowhere.
